Abstract. The paper extends a series of previous investigations upon stress state and stress riser effect of circular holes in an elastic half-plane under various loadings. Theoretical results of the authors for the plane Cerriti’s problem are surveyed. Then, new photo-elastic tests are shown, which validate the theoretical results.
